The present Fincham Organ factory building is the sole remaining section of a factory complex established on this site by George Fincham in1862. From this site, Fincham built organs for churches, public halls and residences throughout Austrailia and New Zealand. He was the major Australian organbuilder last century and built such major instraments as those in the Exhibition Building, the Australian Church, Freemasons Hall and St. Kilda Town Hall.
